Distance Traveled:  71km

Directions:

Cycle downhill from town, toward the D710.At the intersection make a left turn onto the D710 heading north towards the Dordogne. The next 6km is on busy road. Cross the Dordogne and make a left after the bridge onto the D730E, heading towards Coux-et-Bigaroque. Follow signs for the D51 as you cycle through town, this road follows the river. Shortly after passing  the town of Bigaroque, make a left onto the D51E, which will take you over the bridge and back onto the south side of the Dordogne. Cycle through the town of Le Buisson-de-Cadouin and follow signs for the D25. The next 4km are uphill, followed by a 2km downhill into Cadouin. Make a left onto the D28 shortly after passing Cadouin. Follow the D28 for 8km, then make a left on the D29 for about 1km, and then a right back onto the D28. The D28 will turn into the D31, shortly after you go under a railway bridge. Follow the D31 towards Trémolat. At Trémolat you can take a side trip to a viewpoint of the Dordogne and the agricultural fields in the area. Following the signs toward Le Cingle de Trémolat. It is mostly uphill. There is a viewpoint at a park shortly before the top of the hill. The side trip is approximately 6km roundtrip. From Trémolat, cycle eastbound on the D31 heading towards Limeuil. After passing Limieul, continue on the D31 towards the town of Le Bugue. Make a right on the D703. This road will take you into the center of Le Bugue. The next part is a bit tricky. The road becomes a one-way street, which forces the incoming traffic to detour left on a road that will take you to the D710, unfortunately, this takes you past the right turn you need to make for the D31. What we did was get off our bikes and push them to where the D703 intersects with the D710. Got back on our bikes, on the D710 and headed north. We took the first right, this road is not signed, but it is the D31. From here, follow the D31 for a few km until you see signs for Les Plagnes, make a right turn at the sign. The next few km are downhill. Eventually, you get to a crossroad at the end of the hill. Make a left turn, towards Les Eyzies. You will cycle along the north bank of the Dordogne all the way to Les Eyzies.
