Leaving St-Cirq Lapopie, head east and downhill towards the Lot river, after crossing the bridge make a right turn on to the D662, the road soon passes the town of Tour-de-Faure. From Tour-de-Faure cycle along the north side of the Lot river on the quiet D662. The road is extremely scenic, we stopped several times to take photographs and soak in the surroundings. The road is relatively flat with only a few short hills although there is a harder climb towards the end of ride, after passing Frontenac the road climbs for about 5km to Faycelles. Unfortunately for us, road crews were paving the road. For the 5km downhill after Faycelles we had to ride down the whole way on fine gravel. Follow the D662 all the way to Figeac. The train station is located on the south side of the Célé river. |
